Nine on the Ninth!

Our sweet James celebrated his ninth birthday this last week. What can I say about our cute sweet boy who doesn't like his picture taken, who remembers everything that he reads. He is obsessed with Blob fishes and loves legos. This boy reads about a book a day and loves science fiction.

He is also the best big brother. Matt adores him and wants to be just like him. Abby loves to play with James and he likes to play with her. He is smart and can spell any word that is thrown at him. He hates the spotlight but loves to play video games. We just love him.

Since he hates pictures I obliged for his birthday and only took a couple of pictures

We love you James. So glad you are nine.

Abby 9 months!!!

I am amazed how much faster the first nine months of a baby's life goes. It seemed like the nine months I was carrying her were endless and it seems like these last few months have been like sand slipping through my fingers as I try to grasp harder to just hold on to the moments.

It was an eventful month for Abby. She is growing, now weighing in at over 17 lbs and 27 inches tall. She is also becoming the expert army crawler and can move herself around the house quite easily. This of course means that we are now having to move things up and out of reach as she loves to pulling things off shelves and eat them. She has also started jabbering, "ma, ma, ma," is her favorite thing to say, she also just sits and sings.

This little girls is adored by her family, they still fight over who gets to hold her and play with her- she just loves the attention. She also loves her toys, she loves playing with them and enjoys eating them as well. She is also expanding her culinary palette with curry, meats, and the new favorite-graham crackers.

This last month Abby enjoyed not only her first Easter but also her first Comic-Con it was a rather crazy month.   She is also growing her first tooth-something we are quite excited about.

All ready for Comic Con

Easter 2016

It was a busy spring break. Not only did we go to Comic Con  but we also got to celebrate Easter with family.

We started the week before Easter and celebrated with our Bellamy Family, we had a traditional Easter dinner (with one too many pans of funeral potatoes) and the traditional egg hunt.

Look what I found!

Eve trying to figure out where her parents hid the eggs
this year

Bellamy cousins!
The next morning the kids woke up to find their baskets. They were all quickly found and everyone seemed happy. They had informed their parents this year that they now all only eat "good" chocolate. Meaning, they perfer to eat the Lindt or Ghiradelli stuff. So they were all super happy that those choices found their way into their baskets this year along with some new Disney Infinity characters.

"Hey, did any of you leave this little pink thing here"

"No takers, I guess I will claim it."

We tried creating our own dyes this year with food coloring. The kids loved creating their own colors and I loved the way that they turned out.

The kids all got to pick out new church clothes for Easter, not a moment too soon because we had dresses that were getting too small, pants that had holes in the knees, and ties that were unraveling.
They each got to pick what they would wear, well not Abby. We got Abby's dress over a year ago.  And each of the outfits shows who they are, I love it.

These boys can't not goof off for more than one minute

So happy Easter from us to you!

#fanX16 #epic

It is no great secret that we are a family of geeks. We embrace it and aren't afraid to show it. Our home is decorated with subtle and not so subtle tributes to the fandoms that  we love and the majority of our dress ups have something geeky about them.  To celebrate our geekiness we took the kids to Salt Lake FanX this last week. The tickets were part of their Christmas this last year and we were super excited to go.

We got the Gold tickets this year which let us in a little earlier as an added bonus FanX was over spring break so no one had to get out of school early or take a costume to school.  We enjoyed time together walking the convention floor, snapping pictures, and enjoying panels with our favorite authors and actors. It was a fabulous family filled weekend.  Matt was the only one who wanted to be in pictures...I promise the others were there. They are just a bit more camera shy.

It is rare that I have a picture of all of us at the same time looking at the camera. This one is
totally going in a frame.

Day one found us with 2 Harry Potters, Anna, and Elsa. Not pictured- Batgirl Abby

The boys did Super Hero training, a yearly favorite. They were both awesome.

This shows both their personalities so well. I love it.

Matt was super excited to run into Kylo Ren! We had to take a picture

Jedis and troopers were good to pose with too.

The girls had fun seeing other Anna and Elsa's

This was Matt's favorite moment. I thought he was going to die of happiness
when he saw all the spidermans sitting together.

Day two- Captain America!

Some of the costumes are just awesome. I have no idea
how long this woman worked on her costume but it was great.

This is how Abby and I rolled baby in the front back pack in the back!

Matt's favorite moment of Day 2 seeing Ant Man and Cap! Guess
which side he is on in the up coming Marvel Civil War?

Look, I captured the girls (Katniss and Red Riding Hood with the Silence)

Day 3- Spider Man

James actually volunteered to be in a Trivia contest during a Michael Vey panel I was so proud of him.
Thanks FanX, we love getting our geek on and we'll see you next time!
