Christmas break went by rather quick this year, with the holidays being on the Monday and Tuesdays and birthday parties and holiday parties filling the other days it was a whirlwind. We did pack a ton of fun into those ten days off though.
Our first day of break cousin Lu came and visited. We made giant gingerbread men...
.....they were more fun to make then eat.
Matty entertained us by find new and creative ways to carry around his tree ornament, the kids were entertained for a good hour following him around watching the dinosaur hang from his diaper...
....okay I followed him around too trying to catch the best picture, I never quite got it. I finally finished a sweater I had been working on for quite a while. Matty enjoys wearing his "blankie" because it is "soft."
On Christmas Eve we spent the evening at the Bradley's home. It was so nice to have to have Grandma and Grandpa home. We did the Nativity story complete with a donkey, two Marys, and one Wiseman from the east and another from the West.
Matty lasted for about five seconds as the Baby Jesus...
...his swaddling clothes were a pillow case and bed sheets.Christmas Eve pajamas were swapped out for the three older kids this year, they have way too many.
Instead they got Christmas bathrobes, an instant hit.
Christian and I were awoken at six on Christmas morning to Eve jumping on the bed yelling "it's Christmas, it's Christmas." Matty, who had woken up at two and slept the rest of the night in our bed thought it was the best way to wake up in the morning.
The kids had a great time opening presents and spending the day with our Bellamy cousins.
We did use one of James' presents to make Ninjabread men. The kids loved that part.
We also enjoyed the several inches of snow that fell, though I am not sure Christian enjoyed shoveling all those times.
New Year's Eve we spent playing games and partying with our Bradley cousins. The girls enjoyed the noise making at 11:15 and were a bit sad when we then came home and put them to bed a half hour shy of their goal of midnight.
We then had a great dinner with the Bellamy's at our traditional New Year's meal at Chuck-a-rama, I still think that is the worst name for any restaurant. We had a great time and love spending time with them.
Tomorrow we are back to school, and work, and getting the house organized and ready to move in a few weeks. So goodbye 2012 and hello 2013 it looks like you are going to be full of adventure.
